On a prospecting trip in Northern California, one of the partners of Broll Tools found himself hauling 5-gallon buckets filled with gravel up and down the rugged slopes of Northern California gold country. In a moment of inspiration (and exhaustion), he struck upon the concept of the Broll—a simple device to solve a huge problem.

After returning from the trip he began developing this first design. Working with three other partners, the design was refined and strengthened. Once the base Broll was finished, the four partners turned their attention to other possible uses for this little workhorse.

Ideas for new ways of using the Broll began rolling out of the shop; it was clear that this simple solution to a common problem was just the beginning of something much larger.

NEWS: Broll just got back from the GPAA Gold and Treasure show at the South Point Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. It was two great days talking to Broll’s most ardent fans. People were coming up to us both days to tell us how much they loved their Broll. Many had stories of taking the Broll over really rough terrain to get out to a claim. One prospector brolled 2 miles to get to his claim, and the Broll hung right there with him. Several said that they were skeptical that a cart weighing only 10 pounds could carry over 50 lbs of rock and gravel, but Broll was stronger than anything they threw at it. Many thanks to the GPAA and all involved in the show.
