Your solar charger is always charging. The 7 watt charger will add up to 10 hours per day of running time to the Gold Magic®. The amount of charge will depend on the amount of sun light, your latitude, longitude, the time of the year and whether or not you keep the cell aimed at the sun. This solar cell will produce some charge even under artificial light or cloudy days.
